Spicy Korean Tofu - brief and easy Korean braised tofu with chili powder, garlic, soy sauce, sugar and sesame oil. This Korean aspect dish (banchan) is healthful and scrumptious.
Ingredients
- 1 container sixteen ouncesfirm tofu
- 1 tablespoon oil
Sauce:
- 1 half of tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 stalk inexperienced onion stem removed and cut into small rounds
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 half tablespoons Korean red chili power
- 1 pink chili seeded, pounded with mortar and pestle, elective
- 1 teaspoon white sesame
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/three cup water
Instructions
- Cut the tofu into rectangle shapes, approximately 1/4-inch thickness. Pat dry with paper towels. Mix all of the ingredients within the Sauce together. Set apart.
- Heat up a non-stick skillet on medium warmth and add the oil. When the oil is heated, add the tofu and pan fry till brown on each sides. Add the sauce to the skillet and lower the heat. Simmer the tofu till the sauce reduces but nonetheless extremely wet. Turn the tofu over to simmer on each sides.
- Transfer to a serving platter and top with chopped scallions. Serve at room temperature.
