Pizza taquitos are first brushed with melted garlic butter, then stuffed complete with mozzarella and pepperoni, fried to perfection, and dunked in heat pizza sauce.
Ingredients
- Canola oil for frying
- four tbsp butter
- ½ tbsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried parsley
- eight taco sized flour tortillas (I just like the thick ones for this recipe)
- Package of pepperoni slices
- 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
- Jar of pizza sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Using a heavy bottomed pan, warmth sufficient oil to come back 1 inch up the perimeters of the pan over medium excessive warmth
- Melt butter and mix in garlic powder and parsley
- Using a broom or a spoon, unfold the melted butter onto one side of each tortilla
- Lay as many pepperoni slices as you need on the buttered facet of the tortilla
- At the top of the tortilla, lay one thick line of shredded cheese
- Roll the tortilla tightly so that the cheese is in the center (tip: At the very stop of the roll, area a small quantity of shredded cheese earlier than you close up the tortilla. It will assist the taquito live together when it's far fried!)
- In batches of two to 3 at a time, location taquitos seam aspect down carefully inside the oil
- Cook for about one minute on every facet or until outdoor becomes golden. (Note: I don't like my taquitos first-rate crispy, I opt for them a bit tender at the interior. Make them as crispy as you'd like!)
- Remove from oil onto a paper towel coated plate
- Enjoy with warm pizza sauce for dipping
